J. Dwight Pentecost (1915-2014) was an American theologian, pastor, and author. He was born in Pennsylvania and studied at Philadelphia Biblical University, Dallas Theological Seminary, and Grace Theological Seminary. He also earned a PhD from Dallas Theological Seminary.

Pentecost taught at Dallas Theological Seminary for over 60 years, serving as a professor of Bible exposition and theology. He was known for his expertise in eschatology (the study of end times) and authored numerous books on the subject, including "Things to Come," a classic work on Bible prophecy.
